In 2014, I joined Walsh King’s audit and assurance team after graduating from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. In my current role as Senior Manager, I lead our staff accountants on assurance engagements, ensuring effective work and excellent client service. Together our team works collaboratively with our clients to assess financial reporting compliance and proper functioning of internal control systems.

In addition to assurance services, I also work with our clients in a consulting role. My experience in consulting includes:

• Improving  internal reporting to ensure it is aligned with ASPE or IFRS frameworks and is able to provide accurate and timely information to the business owners
• Training clients on complex accounting theories
• Identifying areas of inefficiency with client’s accounting procedures
• Working with IT consultants to provide more useful accounting information for business owners

Among my experiences was a three month secondment with a construction client, where I was able to observe and gain unique insights into their day-to-day challenges.  I strive to use this experience and others to assist our entrepreneurial clients achieve their business objectives.
