New for 2017: Canada Caregiver Credit
April 10th, 2018

The Canada caregiver credit is a new non-refundable tax credit that consolidates the caregiver credit, the family caregiver credit, and the credit for infirm dependants age 18 or older.

The Canada caregiver credit is largely the same as the tax credits that it replaces. However, the Canada caregiver credit will not be available to taxpayers who support a parent or grandparent over the age of 65 who has no physical or mental impairment.
