FALL 2024 ACCOUNTING & TAX CO-OP STUDENT | 8-MONTH TERM

We provide all our students with a broad range of skill development opportunities in the areas of accounting and tax related fields, ensuring a very solid foundation on which to build a successful career as a chartered professional accountant.

The Opportunity

We are currently looking to hire a Co-op Student for an eight (8) month co-op term beginning September 2024 until April 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our teams during the 2025 busy season.

Our Co-op Students are exposed to a broad range of skill development opportunities and responsibilities. During your term you will:

  • Gain exposure to the preparation of financial statements and a variety of tax returns
  • Prepare correspondence, client summaries and presentations
  • Assist with corporate tax filings
  • Work with client engagement teams and build relationships and develop client service skills
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Learn to develop strong collaborative relationships with coworkers
  • Work with coaches and mentors, dedicated to your academic success as well as your growth and development as a confident professional
  • Gain valuable experience working in professional services office

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Working towards undergraduate degree/diploma with a focus in accounting
  • Working towards prerequisites for admission into CPA Professional Education Program (“CPA PEP”)
  • A desire to provide outstanding client service and a commitment to teamwork
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Proven ability to successfully accept a broad range of responsibilities.
  • Work experience is an asset (minimum of part-time, summer, co-op in any field)
  • Job duties include accessing client information via CRA’s Represent a Client website.  Therefore applicants must have at least one of their own Notices of Assessment available in order to register for Represent a Client.
