Jennifer Reid
Tax Manager
Jennifer Reid

I joined Walsh King LLP in 2014.

I am responsible for managing aspects of the income tax compliance requirements for our corporate, individual, and trust clients. My role includes conducting annual compliance reviews and keeping clients updated on what controls are presently in place as well as flagging compliance initiatives that should be implemented going forward.

I collaborate with our tax partners to ensure compliance issues are being addressed; this includes conducting ongoing research in relations to specific industries, monitoring legislative and policy changes to compliance regimes, and being available to answer client inquiries about compliance matters.

Prior to joining Walsh King LLP, I worked for a number of years in the tax group of a national accounting and advisory firm, focusing on Canadian tax for private corporations, individuals, and trusts.

Since 2015 I have been a Registered Volunteer Community Income Tax Preparer (CVITP) with the Canada Revenue Agency and have worked with 411 Seniors Centre Society and the Salvation Army Harbour Lights. I participate in the outreach program with 411 Seniors Centre Society visiting members of our senior community that have barriers to leaving their home and at tax clinics for low income individuals in the DTES with the Salvation Army.  Up to date tax filings are often the first step for individuals to access Government programs and receive the assistance they need for basic necessities.

I joined the Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre as a Distress Services Volunteer in 2017, undergoing the rigorous 104 hours of training in order to volunteer on their 24/7 distress phone services and online distress services.  The Crisis Centre is a non-profit, volunteer organization committed to helping people help themselves and others, deal with crisis.  They work at the community level to provide education and training aimed at fostering resiliency and building capacity to respond to crisis and suicide.

I am an adventure travel enthusiast with experiences on all seven continents under my belt, a proud dog parent, passionate about giving back and increasing mental health awareness.
